As someone who spends their time traveling, I spend a lot of time either solo or with friends at different destinations. The first time I went to Disney World I went as an adult trip with my now ex-boyfriend. We broke up before we got on the plane for our couples getaway. I still had a fantastic time! Yes, Disney is that magical! Fast forward to trips later with children in tow to my last Adult Disney trip for Christmas, I always say that you should experience Adult Disney at least once or more.
Not that I don't love Disney with the children, but the change from memories of endless lines, scorching heat and screaming kids is huge. I have 5 reasons why you should choose Adult Disney!
1. No fuss curfew
I enjoyed a spectacular view of the Magic Kingdom’s Holiday fireworks with easy exit to Disney Springs for a delicious appetizer and something with rum. It was bliss. Adult Disney "tip", kids are not allowed in Trader Sam’s after 8:00pm.
2. Taste bud overload
Foodie. Epicurious. Gourmand. Then you should know that there is amazing food at Disney World. The is life after ketchup and nuggets. Wonderful in taste and aroma, fresh, all-around-great eats that you don’t have to go to the most expensive restaurants to find fantastic food. My favorite spots for Disney World dining are the sit-down restaurants, including Garden Grill at Epcot, The Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom and Morimoto in the Disney Springs. For the big kids at heart I enjoyed the character dining and photo-ops at Hollywood &Vine at Hollywood Studios. Remember to try a Dole Whip!
3.Drinking around the world
I have to admit that I am typically adventurous with my choice in adult beverages. I do like a good margarita now and then, and the best is at Cava de Tequila in the Mexico pavilion . Enjoy a shot, a flight with sangrita, or margarita the bartender will make it to taste. The lounge at the California Grill are excellent, as is the view of Magic Kingdom, Kimono's, the sake and sushi bar at the Swan resort, turns into a karaoke bar at night. Lastly go to Pongu Pongu at Animal Kingdom for a Rum Blossom!
4. Buying whatever you want
You may not have to manage your souvenir money, if you want something you can buy it. Seriously. Buy it and treat yourself! Classic Mickey Ears, Burke, or in my case a tiara the option is yours.
5. Bring out that inner kid
At home, work, even in the checkout line I find myself musing over how much I can relax doing Adult Disney. It is not a big deal if you are there solo or without children. I have waited in line to bounced with Tigger, done character dinning, rode the rides and enjoyed the shows. The cast members treat me like I am special - like a kid again watching The Wonderful World of Disney again. That is the magic of Disney.
